Blog: One Year Anniversary

Yesterday, April 26, 2010 - I wrote my first bloggie, after having contemplated doing so for quite a bit!  So, Happy Anniversary to Me :-)

Now it is time to reassess and see if I'll continue another year ... well, okay, we know the answer to that one -- I do love to randomly ramble :-)

Weigh in on this one, if you please .... I got into the mood this last month to use music, does that bother you - do you like it - do you wish I'd take it off?  I actually find I don't mind either way, was something fun to play with!

Upcoming ... Blogs by Myrtle from DisneyWorld, of course ... until then - who knows - I'm trying to keep my head above water at the office.

So Buddies, let's start Year 2 and see what else my brain might come up with!

God's Love Revealed - Elizabeth E.S. Williams

I have seen the shining dew drops,
Dropping softly from the eaves.

I have seen the lovely song birds,
Scratching softly through the leaves.

I have felt God's love in the morning,
As the sun breaks for the day.

I have shared His tender blessings,
Felt His guidance all the day.

I have seen God's love in the sunset,
Spreading glory in the sky.

Revealing Heaven's love for us;
As He watches with His eye.

What Else - Disney Pre-Tripping!

(Playing is Golden Dream from An American Adventure at EPCOT's World Showcase - I love this song, did a solo dance to it .... well a-ways back .... especially for the CAF, didn't get a vid of it AND kicking myself ... never took dance notes ... well I'll never dance it again anyway .. so onward!)
May 2008 -- Okay ... now on to the bloggie thingie :-)

As I clicked on my little Mouse suitcase (on my computer's toolbar) -- which is a daily move (even though I know the count of how many days in my head) -- and I looked at "37 days" ... a sense of extreme happiness came over me, realizing that in a "mere" 27 days ... yes, just a mere 27 days ... I will be registering online for our stay at our Disney resort!

Now let me back up just a few months back ... okay more than a few ... you've heard this part before (somewhere, I'm sure!)
  • Me:  Honey, where do you think you might want to go for next year's vaca?
  • Neal:  How about DisneyWorld?
  • Me (after picking myself up off the floor):  "Why'd you pick DisneyWorld?
  • Neal:  Well you've been wanting to go back and it will have been three years, since we were there.
  • Me (not so "adult-like" dancing around the room):  OKAY, I'll plan it!
I did plan it immediately and as I look back on my email confirmation the date was October 4, 2010, a mere six months ago!  Then I hounded the website until they posted what the hours would be for the parks at the time we are going to be there ... and dead-on 180 days before our arrival (this is the "law" of Disney for dining reservations) ... I made dining ressies :-) I chose these (Neal is sort of picky about some things, so I was nice and took that into consideration!)
  • Tusker House - Animal Kingdom (AK), Donald Duck and his Crew
  • 50's Prime Time - Hollywood Studios (HS) (I would love to work here, really!)
  • Akershus - EPCOT, Disney Princesses (ssshhh Neal loves this, I might be upset if I were less secure!)
  • La Hacienda - EPCOT
  • SyFy Diner - HS
  • Hoop-dee-Doo Revue - Fort Wilderness (yes, just what it sounds like!)
  • Rose & Crown - EPCOT (yes, we love to eat at EPCOT)
  • Rainforest - AK
  • The Crystal Palace - Magic Kingdom - Pooh and his friends
I'll not bore you what will probably be our quick dining spots!

We are doing two tours (which we've never had time to stop and do, so this is exciting!)  Neal wasn't thrilled about the Segway tours (which I thought looked fun) ... so I compromised and we are going to "Behind the Seeds" ... now if you've never been on the ride "Listen to the Land" this won't make sense ... but I've always wanted the boat to stop and let me look closer ... well, we are now going to be able to look closer on a 1 hour walking tour AND you can take photos!  I believe I read it is the only backstage tour that you can take photos on ... so --- of course --- I'm in heaven!

Now the other "tour" is: Pirates and Pals -- don't judge it by the name .. Captain Hook meets and greets ya, in a pre-board thing and then Smee is your boat captian and you go out on Seven Seas Lagoon in the evening (with lots-o-snacks and drinks!) and watch the Electric Light Parade AND the Magic Kingdom fireworks ... while anchored.  Then (ssssshhh don't tell anyone) when your boat docks you're met by a special guest -- Tinkerbell!

We are going to have time this trip to visit: Downtown Disney, the Boardwalk, play some mini-golf and just browse through the other resorts ... can I wait -- well now I can because sharing this little bit-o-random vaca information :-) with my Buddies, have calmed me down ... well relatively!

To me DisneyWorld is not all about the rides (albeit they are fun) but Disney presents such a beautiful backdrop to these rides and if you simply pay attention to this backdrop ... from the beautiful grounds to the music to every attention to the details maybe even you could find it as peaceful and soul satisfying as I!

PS I've decided when I "retire" (never) I'm going to be a Disney travel agent!
